One of 20 "Tokens" as part of a permanent installation on Marchmont Parade, London. These re-imaginings of tokens were a centrepiece for mothers to recognise their children when they could not support them during hard times in the 18th Century so they would place their child in the Foundling Hospital (Britain;s first home for abandoned children). Once the mothers were in a better position, they would come back for their child. Many of the tokens during the time took the form of hearts. #tokens A photo posted by The Vinh Hoang (@thevh5) on Sep 14, 2015 at 3:25pm PDT
